23 local Wal-Mart, Sam's Club stores donate $250,000 to Sanford's Children Hospital
FARGO—Christmas came early for kids at Sanford's Children's Hospital.
Twenty-three local Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores raised money for the 30th annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising campaign.
It took the stores two months to raise more than $250,000.
Thursday, store associates were able to show off their hard work with this check, and a 'Frozen' sleigh for kids to play with.
Claire Windus was the first patient to try out the sleigh and store associates smiled and watched her play.
"As soon as she walked in the room and seeing that, it was super exciting. It really gets you, you know, right in the feels, and it can get you goosebumps as well too. So, it's awesome to do something as selective as that for children today," said Matt Knight, 13th Avenue Store Manager.
Sanford plans to use the money to pay for pediatric equipment and unique programs for children staying at the Children's Hospital.
