MOORHEAD - The countdown to a new Moorhead hockey season started shortly after last year's title game at the X.

The Spuds fell that night to Grand Rapids, but bring back nearly their entire team to make another run at that elusive championship.

Moorhead returns seven of its eight top scorers including Carter Randklev, Cole O'Connell, and Jack Stetz.

The Spuds also bring back experience on the blueline. UND commit Ethan Frisch is back after scoring seven goals and talling 13 assists last year.

Moorhead also returns its starting goaltender Lance Leonard.

Once again Moorhead will challenge themselves, playing a handful of state contenders, not including an appearance in Hockey Day Minnesota.
