High school basketball: South beats Central, Spuds hold off Minnetonka, North falls to Red River
WDAY-TV -- The South Bruins won their fourth game in a row on Friday 85-68 over Central.
With the win along with Shanley falling to Davies, the Bruins moved into 4th place in the EDC.
Moorhead 63, Minnetonka 61
MOORHEAD—Rylie Polomny led Moorhead with 20 points and six rebounds as the Spuds topped Minnetonka 63-61.
Sam Haiby added 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Spuds, which rose to 13-8 overall.
The Skippers (12-9) were led by Kayla Mershon's 22 points.
Pelican Rapids 61, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 48
PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn.—Greta Tollefson dropped a team-high 15 points for Pelican Rapids in the team's 61-48 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Friday.
Natalie Steichen had a game-high 23 points for the Rebels.
Pelican Rapids improved to 12-7 overall. D-G-F fell to 19-2 overall, both losses at the hands of the Vikings.
Grand Forks Red River 71, Fargo North 51
FARGO—Shelby Frank recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds for Grand Forks Red River in the team's 71-51 win over Fargo North.
The Roughriders improved to 14-3 in the EDC and 14-4 overall. The Spartans fell to 5-10 in the EDC and 5-11 overall.
Fargo South 51, Grand Forks Central 43
FARGO—Adie Wagner led Fargo South past Grand Central with 24 points in the team's 51-43 win.
The Bruins improved to 3-13 in the EDC and 3-14 overall. Central remained winless, falling to 0-17 in the EDC and 0-18 overall.
West Fargo Sheyenne 70, Wahpeton 23
WEST FARGO—Kierra Freih paced West Fargo Sheyenne with 17 points, leading the Mustangs past Wahpeton 70-23.
With the win, Sheyenne improved to 13-4 in the EDC and 14-4 overall. The Huskies fell to 3-13 in the EDC and 4-13 overall.
