Omaha downs UND 4-1 in NCHC opener
Omaha scored two goals in the second period to snap a 1-1 tie en route to a 4-1 win over North Dakota on Friday night in a National Collegiate Hockey Conference game at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
UND's lone goal came from Shane Gersich on a penalty shot late in the first period.
Fredrik Oloffsson, Luke Nogard, David Pope and Zach Jordan scored for the Mavericks.
UND dropped to 5-4-2 in the league and 10-6-5 overall while Omaha improved to 3-6-0 and 10-8-1.
The teams conclude their NCHC series Saturday night.
