MINOT, N.D. -- A 27-year-old Minot man is accused of groping a female correctional officer at the Ward County Jail on Sept. 15. Scott Ramon Parizek made an initial appearance on the Class A misdemeanor sexual assault charge on Wednesday in district court in Minot. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail and $3,000 in fines. He could also be required to register as a sex offender.
MINOT, N.D. -- A 36-year-old Minot woman is accused of shaking her 13-year-old son, putting him in a headlock and scratching his neck with her diamond ring during an argument on Sunday.
MINOT, N.D. — A 28-year-old man was taken to the hospital after he was apparently shot while in a vehicle outside a Minot apartment complex early Monday, Nov. 6. The man, who has not been identified, suffered a gunshot wound and was driven to Trinity Hospital by another person in the vehicle, according to the Minot Police Department. Officers responded to the hospital at 12:48 a.m. after a report of the victim arriving there. He was in stable condition.
MINOT, N.D. -- A 27-year-old Minot woman will serve about two years in prison for stabbing her sister during a domestic altercation on June 13, according to court records. Sara Beth York pleaded guilty Thursday in district court in Minot to Class C felony aggravated assault - domestic violence.
MINOT, N.D. - A Minot man, James Milton Blue II, has been sentenced to 20 years in the North Dakota State Penitentiary for shooting at his girlfriend, son and police at a trailer park, one of 17 felony charges against him. Blue entered an Alford guilty plea to 17 separate felony charges in North Central District Court in Minot Friday. An Alford plea can be entered by a defendant who maintains innocence but recognizes there is enough evidence to produce a guilty verdict. A Class C felony charge of contact by bodily fluids or excrement was dismissed by Judge Gary Lee.
MINOT, ND-- A Minot man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy who has a developmental disability and autism. Judge Stacy Louser sentenced 54-year-old Darrell Midkiff on Tuesday.The judge said she strongly opposed any possibility of early release for Midkiff. Prosecutors say the boy was playing with Midkiff's grandson at Midkiff's trailer in Minot last February when he was assaulted. Court documents say Midkiff's son called police to report the crime.
MINOT, N.D. – As a result of infrastructure upgrades on the rail corridor adjacent to U.S. Highway 52 in North Dakota , the maximum regulated track speed will go from 49 to 60 mph. The change, which covers most of the corridor from Drake in north-central North Dakota to the Canadian border at Portal in far northwest North Dakota, will go into effect Nov. 7.
WATFORD CITY, N.D. – A complaint filed by a North Dakota Game and Fish Department warden made the claim that McKenzie County Deputy Sheriff Maxwell Ingram used a firearm to kill a deer during the archery season. At a change of plea hearing in Northwest District Court Tuesday, Ingram entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge.

MINOT, N.D. -- With the loss of Roosevelt Park Zoo's 18-year-old male Bactrian camel in late September, the Minot zoo officials are looking into replacing the camels. The female camel died this spring. The male camel died during the night. Exam results show the camel likely died from natural causes due to advanced age.
