GRAND FORKS - Red River softball finished off its regular season on a high note beating West Fargo Sheyenne 9-7. The win gives them the three seed in this week's EDC Tournament, Sheyenne will get the four. The EDC quarterfinals start on Thursday, Red River will play Davies and Sheyenne will face North.
SPORTS SUNDAY - With the state's best jump at six feet ten inches, Wahpeton junior Josh Darwin has turned heads on the track this season. Darwin joined Sports Sunday to discuss, his school record jump, goals for the state meet, and what he has had to battle through to get there.
FARGO - The Fargo Force returned home Sunday to a crowd of fans showing appreciation for the team that got the USHL program it's first title. The Force took down Youngstown in four games to capture the cup. Griffin Loughran was named Clark Cup playoffs MVP after recording seven goals and three assists in the Force's run. This is head coach Cary Eades second Clark Cup victory, his first coming in 2015 with Sioux Falls.
FARGO - The Bison baseball team closed the regular season on a high note, finishing off South Dakota State at home 6-5 in walk-off fashion. NDSU trailed 5-1 in the 7th before rallying back and taking the game with a walk-off walk. The win gives NDSU the three seed in the upcoming Summit League Baseball Championship, where it will face Western Illinois in the first game of the tournament on Wednesday.
YOUNGSTOWN - The Fargo Force are now one win away from capturing the programs first Clark Cup title. Fargo downed Youngstown 3-2 on the road on Friday behind goals from Griffin Loughran, Evan Bell and Bartek Bison. The Force were led in goal by Strauss Mann who tallied 38 saves. Game four will be on Saturday in Youngstown at 6:05 P.M..
TUCSON - NDSU captured it's first game in the Tucson regional of the NCAA tournament on Friday 5-4 over Mississippi State. The Bison were led by Vanessa Anderson at the plate who went 2-3 with 2 RBI's, while Jacquelyn Sertic held the Bulldogs to 4 runs on 9 hits. NDSU willl play Saturday at 4:00 P.M. against the winner of St. Francis and Arizona.
WEST FARGO - The Packers of West Fargo remain in 1st place of the EDC after beating Grand Forks Central 4-3 on Tuesday. Ryan Bourassa gets the win for West Fargo as they improve to 16-1. West Fargo travels to Thief River Falls/Goodridge on Thursday for their last non-conference game of the season, it will wrap up EDC play on Friday at Shanley.
FARGO - Mary Ekern of Fargo fell in love with walking as a child in Wallhalla, N.D. and that love has grown into something more. After Ekern retired in 1999 her son suggested she turn her daily walks into runs, so she could compete in the Fargo Marathon's 5k. Following completion of her first 5k Ekern deiced to step it up and try the half marathon, where she fell in love all over again. But at the age of 80 the training has become more of a chore than a passion for Ekern who decided this year will be her final race.
DILWORTH - The D-G-F baseball stayed undefeated Tuesday night with a 15-5 win over Park Rapids Area. After a slow start the Rebels offense kicked in late to finish off the Panthers. D-G-F improves to 12-0 and will host a doubleheader against Hawley on Thursday.
FARGO - Sheyenne and North soccer stay in the EDC hunt after their 1-1 draw on Tuesday. With only four points seperating the top four teams in the EDC every point is crucial in the last week of the regular season. Sheyenne sits in 3rd with 11 points, The Mustangs will host Shanley to close the season on Thursday, while the Spartans will host Red River and Davies on Thursday and Saturday respectively.
