RAMSEY COUNTY, ND - The North Dakota Department of Health is reporting the first human case of West Nile virus (WNV) of the season. NDDoH said the individual lives in Ramsey County and was not hospitalized for their illness. Last year, the department received reports that 62 people contracted the virus. Over 35 percent of the cases resulted in hospitalizations, including two deaths.
The GOP has unanimously voted to grant Secretary of State Al Jaeger a letter of support for the race. Jaeger says he is humbled by the support for the Republican Party. He will now appear on this November's ballot as an independent and will face Democrat Joshua Boschee. Jaeger has won the Secretary of State election seven times. He originally lost the GOP endorsement to Will Gardner who pulled out of the race after reports of window-peeping surfaced.
GRANDIN, N.D. – An early morning traffic stop Tuesday, June 5, near here in Cass and Traill counties turned dangerous, according to authorities.
FARGO – A 57-year-old Fargo man was arrested after a domestic dispute involving a knife Monday night, June 4. Michael Lewis, 57, was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. on suspicion of interfering with an emergency call and aggravated domestic assault, said Fargo police spokeswoman Jessica Schindeldecker.
FARGO -- A man ended up in the hospital Sunday following a fight outside Scheels Arena. Police responded to the 5200 block of 32nd Avenue South just after 5:30 Sunday afternoon. Witnesses reported the man was assaulted by a group of 20 to 30 men. The victim was knocked unconsious. Sheyenne High School's graduation ceremony was just wrapping up at the time. When police and emergency responders arrived, the group had dispersed and the victim didn't offer any information. He was taken to the hospital by friends.
NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. - The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the human remains discovered in New York Mills as Lynda Ranae Meyer.

FARGO - Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly stabbed a man with a scissors early Wednesday morning.
FARGO -- A man being sued by the state of North Dakota for violating consumer protection laws is in jail, facing DUI charges. Tim Rosene was arrested on Sunday, May 13th after he was pulled over on South University Drive with a B.A.C of 0.18, more than twice the legal limit. Rosene is in custody at Cass County Jail. Rosense was sued in March for leaving 9 customers with unfinished work from when he operated Fargo company Studs to Rugs.
FARGO -- One person is injured after being hit by a driver Saturday night, where police believe alcohol was a factor. It all happened around 9:30 at the intersection of 27th Ave. and South University in Fargo. Police were able to apprehend the driver and the person injured was taken to the hospital by ambulance, although we do not yet know the extent of the injuries.
